As Bill and his family cower in a bomb shelter during a raid, he wishes for a brother rather than a sister. And it seems he may have got his wish when the family find and take in a badly injured boy, his face so heavily bandaged that they can see nothing but one eye. But the boy’s behaviour grows more and more sinister until one day the bandages come off – and Bill is confronted by one of his worst nightmares.
